vtuvia-price-rising

Dear Valued Customers,

Thank you for your continued support and trust in VTUVIA. We deeply value each of our customers' needs and interests. Due to the latest tariff policy implemented by the U.S. government, we have to adjust our product prices. Here are the detailed explanations:

Background on Tariff Policy
According to recent legislation, the U.S. government will implement a 25% tariff on bicycles, e-bikes, kids' bikes, and other related products imported from China starting June 14, 2024. This tariff policy will directly impact the cost of our imported products.

Why are Prices Increasing?
Tariff Impact: The current tariff rate is set at 25%, and future tariffs could rise even higher, with proposals suggesting increases up to 60% or more. Since approximately 90% of bicycles and e-bikes sold in the U.S. are manufactured in China, the bicycle industry cannot avoid these tariffs in the short term.
Supply Chain Constraints: The U.S. market has a high demand for bicycles, and in the short term, other countries cannot replace China's production capacity, leading to supply tightness and increased costs.

When Will Prices increase?
The tariff goes into effect on June 14, 2024, but we do not plan to raise prices on our current inventory. Many of our bikes currently shipping will be impacted, and we will delay any price increases until July 1. For different ebike models, the price increase range is between $100-250.

What Does This Mean for You?
If you're planning to purchase a new bike or e-bike, now is the best time to do so. We are doing everything in our power to delay increasing our prices, but eventually, we, like many other U.S.-based bicycle retailers, will be unable to avoid these steep cost increases. We strongly recommend that you purchase your bike or e-bike now to take advantage of our lower prices while you still can.

Which VTUVIA Bikes Are Affected?
Here is a list of the VTUVIA bike models that will experience price increases. If you were thinking about purchasing one of these models, we recommend buying as soon as possible to avoid higher prices:

✅ VTUVIA SF20H Folding Electric Bike

✅ VTUVIA SN100 All-Terrain Electric Bike

✅ VTUVIA SX20 Antelope Step-Thru Folding E-Bike

✅ VTUVIA Giraffe Commuter Electric Bike

✅ VTUVIA Gemini Dual-Battery E-bike

Summary
Due to implementing a 25% tariff on bicycles and e-bikes imported from China, we have to raise prices on some of our models by an average of 13%. We suggest purchasing your bike before July 1, 2024, or as soon as possible to take advantage of current prices. Our team is committed to providing high-quality products and navigating these changes with transparency and a customer-centric approach. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Thank you for your attention and support!

Best regards,

The VTUVIA Team
