VTUVIA SF20H Review | Rider Story

For Bill Sheets from North Carolina, one summer vacation in South Dakota changed the way he and his wife experience the outdoors.

In June, while traveling through the Black Hills, Bill and his wife rented VTUVIA e-bikes from Black Hills Power Bikes in Custer, SD. The shop’s owners—loyal VTUVIA customers themselves—highly recommended the brand, and encouraged Bill to give the bikes a try. That day, the couple explored the scenic George Mickelson Trail, a 109-mile path winding through pine forests, old railroad tunnels, and sweeping prairie views.

From Vacation Ride to Real-Life Adventures

Once the bikes arrived, the couple quickly turned curiosity into routine. Over the past few months, they’ve already logged over 150 miles of riding. Living in rural North Carolina, however, means they don’t have trails right outside their doorstep. To enjoy long and safe rides, they often make a two-hour drive each way to reach rail-trails that are perfect for e-biking.

Their favorite destination so far is High Bridge Trail State Park in Virginia, a 31-mile converted rail line that features one of the longest recreational bridges in the U.S. Rising 125 feet above the Appomattox River, the bridge offers sweeping views and a unique sense of history. “We love riding there,” Bill shares. “Wind or hills make no difference on the SF20H. We can just enjoy the ride.”

Why a Step-Through Folding E-Bike Works for Them

Bill and his wife chose the SF20H step-through electric bike for a reason. With its low step-through frame, it’s easy to mount and dismount—something that makes a huge difference on longer rides or when carrying gear. The bike also folds down for transport, which is perfect for their lifestyle. Since they often load their bikes into the car for weekend trips, the folding e-bike design makes traveling to parks and trails much more convenient.

“The bikes just flatten out the challenges,” Bill explains. “We’re not worn out by the hard parts. We can just focus on having fun.”

Sparking Conversations on the Trail

Their bright red SF20H e-bikes always turn heads on the trail. Passersby often stop to ask where they came from, impressed by the sturdy design and fat tires. Bill takes pride in sharing his experience, knowing that more people are curious about the freedom e-bikes can provide.

A Lifestyle, Not Just a Purchase

For Bill, the VTUVIA SF20H isn’t just a product—it’s a gateway to a new lifestyle. What began as a vacation activity is now a regular part of his and his wife’s lives. Each ride offers not only exercise, but also exploration, connection, and joy.

Or as Bill puts it best: “You make a fine product.”
